# Loop Beyond Your Habits
A System is a series of integrated Loops. A Business is a System. Any Project can be thought of as a Loop in a System moving towards a Goal. Loops are impacted by people's habits.
**Habits are...**
- Regular Actions
- Normally Personal
- Single Process
- Often Lockstep (No Logic)
**Loops are...**
- Systems Level
- Human and/or Machine
- Multiple Processes
- Integrated Logic & Feedback
*A Loop is a systems level workflow consisting of multiple processes with some logic and feedback for adaption.*
A Loop can include interrupts and subroutines that pause it for other loops to activate first. This is common in corporate decision making or emergencies.
A Loop takes a certain amount of time on average. That is it's Rhythm.
The Rhythm (AKA Length of Time) of the loop is the single greatest factor in speed of change in direction or velocity of any given System or Project.
In a group setting with regular meetings, it is very likely that only 1 thing will happen during any given Loop. That means you should set your Loops Rhythm to match the speed of progress you want to achieve.
I'm writing daily Atomic Essays as part of #Ship30For30 to move my content creation loop from an Irregular Biweekly to Daily. As a result, I hope to make many lasting connections with you and create a new loop of content creation and audience feedback.

## A System Is A Chain Of Loops
- Loops go beyond individual habits, though they are impacted by them. Instead, a loop is a series of workflows (AKA Processes) resulting in specific deliverable (AKA artifacts)
- A system is a series of loops. It could be conceptualized as a single loop in many cases. Bad Habits are imperfections in the chain that compound. Good Habits keep the system (AKA Chain) alive
- I like to map systems and projects to a series of loops. Most people can think of how they act in loops as well.
- Loops can include interrupts and other subroutines that are workflows or even entire loops in themselves.
- Loops have [[GOTBook/2. Final Edits or Revision/First Principles Project Planning#Rhythm| Rhythm]], they take a certain amount of time
- You should use specific actions, like [[Doing Journal| Daily Journals]] or [[Birdseye Meeting Overview | Regular Meetings]] to ensure a Loop completes regularly
