# Why Choose Lazy Entrepreneurship?
So, the goal of this document- in fact, the goals of all [[GOTBook/1. Ready For Final/Personal Philosophy|Lazy Entrepreneurs]] are simple:
1. To work and do your favorite things.
2. To do awesome shit.
I have never wanted to live an average life. I want to live a life I look forward to waking up to. Work does not always need to be time-consuming to be productive. From this viewpoint, we will cover the topics of the Lazy Entrepreneurs’ philosophy.
_Think about your favorite activities, hobbies, or enjoyment. Make a mental list about what they are. _
I love food in general. I enjoy cooking big meals and spending time on elaborate dishes. That is one of my priorities when I have free time. The importance of highlighting your favorite hobbies and habits is for you to know what you want. What would be the point of trying to work less if you’re not doing something fun with that time you have off?
Time is the single most valuable resource we have.
Think about how much time you want to spend doing each of the things you love.
That'll give you an idea roughly of what your target is in terms of free time for those activities. This will likely time, and that's part of Lazy Entrepreneurship. Knowing how much free time you have and making time for your favorite activities. Sometimes your hobbies may become profitization and then you can dedicate more time to it, which is a beautiful thing. Sometimes you may only want to do one thing at a time, other times you may want to do a dozen unique activities every day. The choice is yours and yours alone.
# Core Principles
There are a few core principles that I hold dear:
1. [[GOTBook/2. Final Edits or Revision/Dashboard Management|A person, business, or concept, can be modeled in relation to other variables]] (like $) as a point, line, or vector in a multidimensional grid space.
2. [[GOTBook/2. Final Edits or Revision/First Principles Project Planning|All systems and projects]] operate in a series of loops, ideally feedback loops
3. [[GOTBook/2. Final Edits or Revision/Scenario Planning|It is easiest to think of the future as a series of possible scenarios]] with probabilities associated with each. In theory (but rarely in practice) you could map those scenarios to points on the aforementioned grid space
4. [[GOTBook/3. Rewrites/Learning|Develop a life]] in which better every day is the baseline, an upward trajectory.
5. [[GOTBook/3. Rewrites/Performance Enhancing Work Methods|Have the time to do things]] that are truly impressive, hitting the high points
# Quick Hit List
For all you productivity junkies out there….
If it cost $25/hr (adjust for cost of living, this is for someone based in the US) or less to hire someone to do this, outsource it
1. Cooking (Unless you love to do it)
2. Groceries
3. Scheduling + Travel Planning
4. List Building
5. Follow Up (Can often be autoamted too)
6. Topic/Idea Research
7. Drafting Content from narration/dictation
8. Posting Things (Blogs, paintings, podcasts, decals, whatever)
9. Cleaning Your Home/Office/Etc
10. Dogwalking
## Thinking in Loops
1. Research variables and best practices
2. Synthesize them into a working model
3. Plan steps and visualize scenarios in detail based off the model
4. Execute
5. Review Results
6. Adapt Model
7. Revise Plan
8. Repeat Steps 4-8
This is my personal vision of the loop. I call it the Research-Plan-Execute-Repeat Loop - or RPER Loop for short. It starts with a thought, which leads to research of the variables involved in making that thought a reality. From there I try to detail a model that reflects reality and plan the potential scenarios that could occur.
Plan in hand, I execute. Upon action, I review the model in action and adapt it. My plan is thus revised and execution begins again. Over time, this process takes a thought and creates a version of it in reality.
![[Pasted image 20211115105308.png]]
> **This is a SYSTEM designed to progressively close the gap between thought & reality**
### The OODA Loop
My basic loop of Research-Plan-Execute-Repeat (RPER) is very similar to the Observe–Orient–Decide–Act (OODA) Loop developed by military strategist and USAF Colonel John Boyd.
OODA is wiodely studied and documented in military and corporate research, but a bit too stuffy & complex for my taste.
![[Pasted image 20211115105624.png]]
> Whereas OODA is biased towards action and directing a unit, RPER is more focused on developing a repeatable working model.
Both are incredibly valuable - But when the goal is build a system that supports itself without our continued input I find RPER to be a better fit.
### The Lazy Entrepreneurship Loop
Lazy Entrepreneurship is a version of RPER specifically for those of us interested in operating multiple businesses or profit making projects. Unlike my thinking process, it is not an abstract system.
Each step is paired with a documented process loop for building, testing, and developing a sustainable system.
> This process is defined and mapped out in the chapters of this book.
> 1. Look inwards and determine your Purpose and WHY? reason for acting
2. Model yourself and resources to visualize potential Scenarios
3. Plan the Projects that will help you reach your ideal Scenarios
4. Execute on the projects & delegate as much as possible
5. Adjust course and continue as you refine your vision
It starts with [[GOTBook/2. Final Edits or Revision/Scenario Planning|Scenario Visualization]] to define your WHY?, purpose, goals, and the potential scenarios that could occur along your path towards success. This is a version of Research and Model building in the RPER loop.
Scenarios are developed by visualizing potential outcomes from your current state, and include "Gates" - specific events that are make or break to potential futures.
Since Scenarios can only be achieved with help from others, [[GOTBook/2. Final Edits or Revision/First Principles Project Planning|Projects]] must be defined. Some for the explicit purpose of learning new concepts and abilities. Others to develop new productive capacity through capital building or profit. These ventures and courses require you to plan out your day and maximize your work time so that you can pursue non productive pursuits with equal enthusiasm.
When combined with Scenario Visualiation, Project Planning encompasses the Planning portion of the RPER loop.
The final process loop within Lazy Entrepreneurship is that of **Executing on and completing a deliverable**.
Key to scaling this is the concept of **The GAP**, specifically the one between the order giver and the order doer in vision, communication, and concept. It will almost always exist in some form. This is the key difference between doing things yourself and having others do them. It is vital to learn and master this. Over time, working with people will reduce the gap between you two. But when you hire someone new though, the gap starts fresh.
It is my experience that it is easier to break a task into several smaller deliverable representing each stage in research, planning, and execution of the desired thing.
By allowing for a series of smaller revisions, you're aim is a completed product closer to the desired reality on the first try. In addition to the production efficiencies, it also allows for deeper insight into the process vision for the order doer, hopefully reducing some of the gap in the future.
In [[GOTBook/3. Rewrites/Performance Enhancing Work Methods]] we'll dive deep into methods for reducing The GAP in both your own work and the work you delegate to others. Furthermore, we'll discuss best practices for optimizing your own personal output. This is Execution - the final piece of the RPER Loop.
## Thinking In Vectors
* Imagine yourself as a vector in an infinite 3d grid. You start at a point of collision between your parental vectors, and blast outward.
* Your Point becomes a line which slowly changes direction and becomes a curve over time
* You don’t choose your starting direction (birth/childhood) or velocity
* You can change both.
* Gates can change direction or cause large changes in velocity
* Scenarios are potential points you could predictably reach.
* Your daily habits and routines build momentum/change velocity quickly, but change direction much slower (slow curve vs sharp angle)
* Anything (person, business, Art, ideas) can be conceived in this model, and the visualization is core to my thinking.
![[Pasted image 20211116103205.png]]
> The RPER loop is made to help build momentum in your vector, so that you can move faster and faster in your chosen direction.
## Do Awesome Shit
Doing awesome shit is about having experiences you want to have. Having those memorable moments that you can tell your friends and family for years to come. It gives you a reason to exist. The purpose of this framework is to enhance the systems used to achieve these awe inspiring feats that take our time and effort. Doing awesome shit is something that some people are going to want to do more than others. And that's okay! Awesome shit takes a lot of time and effort.
Maybe you only want to do a few awesome things, and maybe even fewer of them will be truly awesome. Maybe some of the awesome shit you want includes writing a book or selling a company. Then your awesome shit aligns with some other stuff in life that you might need to do, like making enough to pay rent.
Entrepreneurs have no work-life balance, so it is vital for them to choose. If you feel that you lack a work-life balance, then you may be an entrepreneur. If that is the case, then you must make time for your favorite activities and some Awesome Shit.
This is what Lazy Entrepreneurship is all about, allowing you to have more time for Awesome Shit alongside activities that aren’t “work.”
